Your Piece of the Planet – Part 2

This week I will be sharing the second part of Your Piece of the Planet. When God sent the spies to go and prepare to take possession of their piece of the planet He gave them very simple and specific instructions.

Step 1: Numbers 13:2, “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each Your Piece of the Planet Part 2ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.” Have you taken the time to go and explore your piece of the planet? Some of you are probably asking, “How am I suppose to make that happen?” There are a number of ways to accomplish this. You can travel there and explore the land; take time to walk the land and talk to it (Call it yours). If traveling is not an option at the time, find a map and walk it with your fingers. Google it and start learning the language and customs.

Step 2: Joshua 1:7-8, “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.  Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (NLT) Remember to follow the instructions given to you by God. If He told you to go spy out the land in Mississippi but you had your hopes set on California, do not be disobedient. Your success depends on your obedience.

Step 3: Joshua 1:11, “Go through the camp and tell the people to get their provisions ready. In three days you will cross the Jordan River and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you.” Get your provisions ready. Do not operate by foolishness, but by faith. Proverbs 6:6 encourages us to consider the ant and be wise. The ant gathers provision in Spring and Summer in order to have enough in the winter months. Preparation is vital for your success in taking control of your piece of the planet.

Step 4: Joshua 3:5, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Separate yourselves by spending time with God in prayer and fasting. Make a commitment to follow Him and renew your vows of obedience there in His presence. He will give you courage and peace for the journey.

Step 5: Joshua 3:6, “Take up the Ark of the Covenant and cross over before the people.” The Ark of the Covenant was to be carried in front of the people. It was a symbol of God’s Glory, Divine Presence, His Throne, His Fullness, and Covenant Promise to His people. You have the Holy Spirit residing inside of you; thus God’s presence is always with you. Go in the authority of God to conquer your promise land. Joshua did not tell they people to follow him or to follow Aaron. Take your eyes off of man and follow God.
These five steps, if followed, will help you take your piece of the planet and dwell in your promise land. But what happens when you reach your destination?  For 40 years God had supernaturally supplied food (manna) for His people; however, when they crossed over the Jordan into the Promised Land, the manna ceased.
Next week I will share Why Supernatural Provision May Cease.
