Purpose. Many are asking, “Why am I here? What is my purpose?” I hear it everywhere. However, there is a problem. You are not asking the correct person. During this season there are usually many people making resolutions about what they want to accomplish this year. First of all, take the time to ask God the right questions. Many years ago I heard someone say, “If you want to know the purpose of a thing, don’t ask the thing. ASK THE CREATOR OF THE THING.” You ever wonder why people do not know the answer to this question? Only God, can reveal to you why you are here; because He created you (2 Timothy 1:9). Your husband can’t tell you why you are here; your kids can’t tell you why you are here; no one, but God can reveal this to you. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..”
So ASK the correct person. The Bible states that many hearts will fail because of fear (Luke 21:26). When you have no set course, no direction to travel, no plans, you tend to live in fear of the unknown. But you can know. Unlock that door and discover what motivates and drives you; that’s your purpose.
It’s not that hard. Take a look at your life. What makes you angry? What makes you happy? What is it that you cannot tolerate? Ask God to reveal the answers to you. Do you know where to find the richest place on the planet? It’s the graveyard. Why? Because so many people have died and are buried without fulfilling their full potential. There are businesses which were never started, inventions not created, books that were never written, and artful masterpieces that were never painted.
Don’t go to your grave without fulfilling your divine purpose. Seek out the answer to the question, “God, why am I here?” “What is my purpose?” He is waiting for you to ask, so He can show you the answer. Become pregnant with purpose, live it, breathe it, let it birth creativity in you. You will never regret it.
