God Does Not Change

Weather changes often, especially here in Oklahoma.  God does not change.  For some of us 2017 started off with a blast of cold weather and ice storms; others had too much rain and tornados. Our weather here in Oklahoma, as usual, has been a roller coaster ride of warm temperatures (sixties and seventies) and cold, icy temps (below freezing and single digits). As we say here in Oklahoma, ‘Hate the weather, just wait 5 minutes, it will change’.

I am so glad God does not change. No one can ever say about God, ‘Just wait 5 minutes and He will change’. Scripture tells us, He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

This is how we know we can count on God. If He said it, it is so, and He will not change His mind. I have heard many say the Word of God has changed over time. Obviously, they do not know God. Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the Lord, I do not change.”

When God said, “He will never leave you, nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5), believe Him.

When He said, “I am. Jehovah Rapha,  your Healer” (Exodus 15:26), believe Him.

When He said, “I am, Jehovah Shalom, your Peace”(Judges 6:24), believe Him.

When He said, “I am, Jehovah Jireh, your Provider” (Genesis 22:14), trust Him.

When He promised you, “I will love you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3), believe Him.

When He said, “I will restore what was taken from you” (Joel 2:25), trust Him.

When He said, “If you have faith, whatsoever you ask, you will receive it” (Mark 11:24), you can trust it will come to pass.

Our God has given us His WORD (John 1:14), it is faithful and true. When He sent us His WORD (Jesus), a covenant promise was fulfilled. God can swear by nothing greater than Himself (Hebrews 6:13); therefore, we can be sure that whatever He said, He will do.

Just remember, God Does Not Change.  Great is His Faithfulness; there is no shadow of turning with Him.
