Christmas: These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

Do you have Christmas favorites?  I remember this song called My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music. The Christmas season is upon us. We are all busily trying to get things done (decorating, shopping, Christmas programs, etc). Let’s take a moment to slow down and really enjoy some of our Christmas favorites. Today I am sharing some of my favorite things.Favorite Things

1. Music: Toby Mac’s Christmas In Diverse City. I love this CD. It is a mix of rock, pop, soul, hip-hop and urban flavors. It will quickly get you in the Christmas spirit.

2. Movies: Christmas with Holly. Grab a box of tissue. I saw this on the Hallmark channel a couple of years ago and I have watched it each year at least once since then. This year we watched it in July when Hallmark played Christmas movies and then we watched it again over the Thanksgiving holidays. The little girl in the movie is the sweetest and most adorable child.

Before Christmas With Holly stole my heart, my favorite movie was Borrowed Hearts. This was the first movie I would watch during the Christmas season. I still love it; just not as much as I adore Christmas With Holly. It also has an adorable little girl as the main character. You may need some tissues for this one also.

3. Book: Cape Light series by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer. Yes, this is Thomas Kinkade, the famous artist. This series is about 17 books in length. I have read at least five of them and I am currently reading  A Season of Angels. These books are about a place called Cape Light, a small town in the Northeast. You get to meet the inhabitants of the town and learn their stories. You will have some favorite people in town; others you may not want to read about ever again. These are stories of faith and the strength it requires to come through on the other side of some major difficulties.

What are some of your favorite things to do during the Christmas season? Take some time to do some of your favorites and possibly acquire some new favorites.
